One of 5 trial proofs of the November motif from the series ‘Jahr des Malers’. The book edition was published in 1970/71 as an annual gift by A. Oelschlägerische Buchdruckerei, Calw. Reference: Söhn Felixmüller 429.
In the foreword, Felixmüller explains the motif: ‘In November, I paint at my long-time art friend Hanns-Conon von der Gabelentz’s castle park, which belonged to his ancestors.’ At the time, Gabelentz was director of the Lindenau Museum in Altenburg, Thuringia, which houses one of the world’s largest collections of graphic portfolios of German Expressionism.
